Graffiti on Park

The A List presents Graffiti on Park. The Athenaeum's gritty, industrial art studio on Park Blvd. is the scene of a battle of graffiti artists. The street pierces the veneer of the studio as graffiti artists duel side by side while the spectators get their hands dirty painting an unscripted mural along the wall of the studio. Individual ideas will layer atop each other, conflicting and merging until they create a chaotic harmony that will spray it to say it. Underground hip hop/rap duo Brother Nature will lay down the beat, painting their fresh, poetic lyrics over a classic rhythm. Come to the A List with other art and music lovers and join in a confrontation of graffiti vs. rap, food vs. drink, and artist vs. artist.

Come support The Athenaeum A List and bear witness to an outside, live graffiti showcase by a group of San Diego's relentless gems. Local graffiti artists will have the chance to flaunt their skills, while viewers cast votes on their favorite piece. The winner of the spray off will win the opportunity to leave their mark by painting the Athenaeum Music & Arts Library parking lot.

Inside, additional artists will be participating in a live studio session, surrounded by attendees who are also invited to create their signature on an open mural alongside the artists.
