The Jacksonville Center for the Arts along with David J. Brown Proudly Presents Portrait of Floyd A Special Project by Glen McClure

October 5 through November 24

Meet the Artist Reception – October 13 from 5-8pm.

One Man and a Camera. A Couple of Assistants. 48 hours. 74 Portraits. Randomly photographed on the streets in Floyd County. Nothing like this has ever been done here. You'll want to come visit and meet many of the people who make Floyd their home and destination. You may know some of these people but you don't really know these people without seeing this exhibition. The celebrated photographer Glen McClure, of Norfolk, Virginia, was invited to Floyd to introduce you to your neighbors. In viewing these stunning portraits and finding out about who they are, you just might discover a little bit about yourself in the process.

Over the past 15 years, McClure has had more than 40 solo exhibitions and his work is in many collections including the Polaroid Collection, the Chrysler Museum of Art, the Taubman Museum, Capitol One Collection, and The Mariners' Museum. Some of his celebrated series of works include: Endangered Species: Watermen of the Chesapeake Bay; Derby Girls; Random Portrait of Virginia; As I See Ireland; and Landscapes.
